Stories from the Old Testament
Stories from the New Testament
This year for Holy Week, take part in the tasks at home for each of the key days in Holy Week. Whether it’s putting a piece of greenery from the garden in the house on Palm Sunday, to wearing something red for Good Friday, to lighting a candle on Holy Saturday night. Take part, take a snap and send it in to us to join our parish Holy Week Collage!
Where does Lent come from?
We are now in the Season of Lent. Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 17th, and finishes with Easter Sunday on April 4th. This is a time when we prepare for Easter, the same way that in Advent, we prepare for Christmas. Jesus did a special thing at Easter and over Lent we will learn about it. You might know about the 40 Days of Lent and giving something up for Lent, like sweets or chocolate. This comes from when Jesus went into the desert for 40 days and resisted temptation.
