About

The Parish of Kilnamanagh-Castleview

Our Parish has two places of worship. St. Kevin’s Church in Kilnamanagh and St. Kilian’s Church in Castleview. St. Kevin’s was built in 1978 and St. Kilian’s three years later in 1981. The Late 1970’s and early 80s was a time of burgeoning development in Dublin and many new communities were established during those years.

The Luas line runs through the middle of the Parish and passengers coming from the City Centre should alight at the ‘Kingswood’ station, both churches are within a 10 minute walk from the stop.

Parish History: A Tale of Two Parishes

The Parish of Kilnamanagh-Castleview was officially constituted by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin in 2008. It was constituted from two formerly separate Parishes St. Kevins, Kilnamanagh and St. Kilian’s, Castleview. Both these parishes were small communities by Dublin standards and the amalgamation now forms one Parish with some 3,200 homes or 13,200 people according to census figures. The Parish is under the joint patronage of St. Kevin and St. Kilian, two Irish Monastic Saints who remind us vividly of Ireland’s Christian Heritage.

Parish Mission Statement

To develop a commitment to the love of Jesus Christ and our neighbour by encouraging worship and a spirit of caring for the whole community. It is our hope that in living out our mission, all come to find joy, peace and the fulfilment in Christ.

Prayer For Our Parish

Heavenly Father,

You call us to be the Church of your Beloved Son,

Jesus Christ,

in our parish of Kilnamanagh and Castleview.

We pray for your blessing on all the people of our Parish,

that in our life and work

we may advance your Kingdom

shown to us in the love of Jesus.

Make our parish a family of one heart and mind.

Guide our Parish Team in their work

by the light of the Holy Spirit.

Hear the intercessions of our patrons, St. Kevin and St. Kilian.

And keep us secure in your love.

Amen.

Growing in Faith together.
