Blessing of Pets
Liturgy of the Word on Occasion of the Season of Creation 2023:
The Irish Bishops’ Conference has designated the autumn months of 2023 as the Season of Creation. This is a time to deepen our commitment to caring for Our Common Home—Planet Earth—and to preserving God’s magnificent creation for future generations. In response to this initiative, our parish team is delighted to announce a joint ecumenical service of the Word, in collaboration with Canon William Deverell and our brothers and sisters from the Church of Ireland Parish of St Maelruain’s in Tallaght. This liturgy will take place on Sunday, 8th October, at 4 pm at St Kilian’s Church in Kingswood. The service is titled ‘All Creation, Praise the Lord (Psalm 148): A Blessing of Pets.’ Our aim is to bless and give thanks for our earthly companions while fostering a spirit of Christian unity and co-responsibility for the preservation of God’s creation. We warmly invite you to bring your pets, whether feathered, furry, or scaled, to receive a special blessing as we celebrate the greatness and beauty of God’s creation. Everyone is welcome!

Glendalough Pilgrimage

Our pilgrimage to Glendalough in early March was a huge success. Pictured on the left are attendees outside God’s Cottage in Glendalough Prayer Centre. There was a celebration of the Eucharist by Fr Frank in the chapel of God’s Cottage. We are indebted to Imelda of God’s Cottage for her inspiring guided tour of the former monastic settlement and to Sr Anne Neylon for her spiritual reflection on the life and times of St. Kevin.
