Parish notices for the weekend of the 16th and 17th September, 2023:Parents or guardians of pupils at St Kilian's Junior and Senior Primary Schools who wish to register their children for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation are kindly asked to attend the upcoming registration evening on Monday, 18th September, at 7 p.m. in St Kilian's Church.This weekend, the annual Crosscare collection will replace the regular weekly Share collection. Donation envelopes will also be available at the back of both churches to financially support our diocesan charity.Owing to forthcoming renovation work at St Kilian's Church in Kingswood, the building will be temporarily closed from 9th to 26th October. While the timetable for Masses remains unchanged during this period, all weekday and Sunday Masses will be relocated to St Kevin's Church in Kilnamanagh.The inauguration and blessing of our Padre Pio statue are set for the Sunday Mass on 24th September at St Kevin's Church. On that day, a single Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., replacing the usual 10 a.m. and 12 noon Masses. The 6 p.m. vigil Mass at St Kilian's on the evening of 23rd September will proceed as planned. We are delighted to announce the attendance of Fr Bryan Shortall OFM Cap, the national promoter of the veneration of St Padre Pio and a native of our parish, who will bless the statue during the Sunday Mass.A lay-led novena, leading up to the feast day of St Padre Pio and the statue's blessing, commenced on the evening of 15th September. The prayers begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening in St Kevin's Church, and all are warmly invited to join.A Mass to celebrate the feast day of St Padre Pio will be held at 10 a.m. on 23rd September in St Kevin's Church.Our announcement boards, including the newly-installed ones outside St Kevin's Church near the entrance to the parish office, will now receive regular updates.
