Parish notices for the weekend of the 30th September and 1st October, 2023: Feast of the Guardian Angels Next Monday, the Church observes the Feast of the Guardian Angels. This is an occasion to give thanks and seek the continued guidance and protection of our Guardian Angels. To celebrate this special feast day, a Mass will be held at 10 am at St Kevin's Church. Preparation Meetings for First Holy Communions 2024 Parents of children preparing for First Communion are warmly invited to attend information evenings in the coming week. The first will be on Tuesday, 3rd October, at St. Kilian's Junior School, and the second on Wednesday, 4th October, at St. Kevin's Boys School. Liturgy of the Word on Occasion of the Season of Creation 2023: The Irish Bishops' Conference has designated the autumn months of 2023 as the Season of Creation. This is a time to deepen our commitment to caring for Our Common Home—Planet Earth—and to preserving God's magnificent creation for future generations. In response to this initiative, our parish team is delighted to announce a joint ecumenical service of the Word, in collaboration with Canon William Deverell and our brothers and sisters from the Church of Ireland Parish of St Maelruain's in Tallaght. This liturgy will take place on Sunday, 8th October, at 4 pm at St Kilian's Church in Kingswood. The service is titled 'All Creation, Praise the Lord (Psalm 148): A Blessing of Pets.' Our aim is to bless and give thanks for our earthly companions while fostering a spirit of Christian unity and co-responsibility for the preservation of God's creation. We warmly invite you to bring your pets, whether feathered, furry, or scaled, to receive a special blessing as we celebrate the greatness and beauty of God's creation. Everyone is welcome! Renovation work at St Kilian's Church St. Kilian's Church will be temporarily closed from 9th to 26th October due to renovations. During this period, all Masses will be relocated to St. Kevin's Church in Kilnamanagh. Our New Padre Pio Shrine in St Kevin’s Church We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the purchase and the inauguration of our new Padre Pio shrine, which took place last Sunday. Your generosity and support have made it possible to enrich our place of worship and to venerate this much beloved saint in our parish church. St Vincent the Paul Society Monthly Door Collection The monthly door collection in support of our local St Vincent de Paul Society takes place this weekend.
