A specially composed hymn has been composed and produced in preparation for the gathering in August 2018. It was composed by Ephrem Feeley and is centred on 1 Corinthians 13. You can find our more about the hymn at: WMOF Hymn
In preparation for the World Meeting of Families being held in Dublin in August 2018, a specially icon of the Holy Family was commissioned. The stunning Icon, which is a triptych style representing the Holy Family in the centre, is travelling to churches in all the Diocese in Ireland over the year and is meant to encourage both reflection and prayer as part of the journey of preparations to World Meeting of Families 2018. It was unveiled and anointed by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin during a special mass at the Knock Shrine on the 21st August to mark the 1 year countdown to the WMOF. It also marked the anniversary of the Apparition and the Feast of Our Lady of Knock. The icon was written by Mihai Cucu with the assistance of the Redemptoristine Contemplative Community in Drumcondra as part of their ongoing prayer for families. When the icon is closed, its two doors show the two Archangels, Michael and Gabriel, communicating the protection of God. When open, the centrepiece shows the Holy Family who are sitting at a table inviting us to come to their table and share the Passover meal. Two other scenes from the Gospel which both relate to marriage and family life are also depicted – The Wedding Feast at Cana and The Curing of Jairus’ Daughter. A copy of the icon can be found in the church at the designated ‘World Meeting of Families’ section. You can read more about the icon at: WMOF Icon
