****Baptisms are suspended until further notice due to Covid-19****
We will work through the backlog of those who had to postpone and then publish new dates for those wishing to have their new baby Baptised.
Preparation for the Baptism of Children:
Parents, if you are considering presenting your child for Baptism in Kilnamanagh/Castleview Parish, these are the steps or stages involved:
First of all, please note: Baptism is a Sacrament of the Catholic Church. It has sacred consequences.
Baptism is invitation, not obligation. However, once you commit, there follows obligation in order to make the commitment real.
Our Preparation for Baptism is designed to help you understand and fulfill the commitment involved.
Please keep in mind that Baptism is not a once-off event, but the beginnings of a journey (an adventure) for your child that will lead them, with your help, step by step, to become an active member of the Faith Community that is the Parish of Kilnamanagh/Castleview.
The Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation are called the Sacraments of Christian Initiation. Initiation means the commencement, the beginnings, of something.
The key to understanding Baptism is that Baptism is about fostering committed Parishioners.
**For any adult seeking Baptism, please read our RCIA section of the website or contact the parish catechist.**
